NEW service offering lash extensions at Ahuriri Beauty Therapy

If you have booked an eye enhancement appointment with Aaliyah, you will already know how good she is at doing these treatments, so when she suggested adding in lash extensions, we knew it was a great idea. Today, we look at 9 commonly asked questions about this new service:
  1. What are classic lash extensions?
This is where a synthetic silk lash is applied to each natural eyelash to add length and volume.

  2. Do they damage your natural lashes?
The length and thickness of your lash extension is chosen specifically for you, so that it will be safe for your natural lash to hold without causing any damage. However, it is important to follow the aftercare instructions as well.

  3. How do I look after my lash extensions?
It is important to keep them dry for 24 hours and avoid using any oil-based products around the eyes. Remove makeup with an oil free cleanser and cotton swab, avoiding touching the base of the lash extension. Do not perm or use a lash curler, pull on them or rub your eyes. Try to avoid sleeping on your face. Clean your lashes twice a week using an oil free cleanser and a clean spoolie (lash brush / mascara wand) or lash cleansing brush. Gently clean lashes by brushing the cleanser through the lashes, then rinsing with water, and leaving to air dry. Gently brush lashes every day with a spoolie to stop lashes sticking together.

  4. What will happen if I don't follow the aftercare instructions?
You might find some lashes fall out prematurely, making your lashes not last as long. Lashes could stick together and if one grows faster than the other, cause pulling, irritation and inflammation. Also, pores could get blocked, causing new lashes to be unable to grow through the skin, causing damage.

  5. How long will they last?
They can last anywhere from 2-6 weeks depending on the health of the lashes, how well the aftercare instructions are followed and the lash growth cycle.

  6. What are infills?
An infill will fill the gaps where lashes have fallen out and new lashes have grown. You need to have at least 50% of lashes remaining otherwise you will require a full set. We only infill lashes that have been applied here.

  7. What type of lash extensions do you use?
We use premium quality, silk lashes that are vegan and 100% cruelty free.

  8. Can I get my lash extensions removed?
Yes, we use a cream remover to weaken the bond of the glue so the lash extension can gently be removed from the natural lash without causing any damage.

  9. Can I wear eye makeup with lash extensions?
Yes, oil free products can be used.
