What is Dermaplaning?
A non-invasive treatment to slough off the outermost layer of skin cells and minor skin imperfections. It also removes the downy hair of the face, leaving the skin smooth and supple. The treatment is combined with a Nimue facial to improve tone and radiance, so the skin is revitalised.
What should I expect?
A medical scalpel is used to gently exfoliate the outer layer of dead skin cells and fine hair on the face, to give the skin a more radiant appearance. Following the treatment, makeup application is smoother and other skincare products are able to penetrate deeper, to make them more effective. It is an ideal treatment if you have a dry, rough or uneven skin tone and can be used to reduce the appearance of shallow acne scars, fine lines and superficial hyperpigmentation.
Are there side effects?
Dermaplaning is safe and painless and there is usually no downtime from the treatment. Many people worry that Dermaplaning will cause the facial hair to grow out darker and thicker after the treatment, but this isn't the case. As it has no effect on the hair follicle, it does not affect the regrowth of the hair.
How long is the treatment?
Allow 50-minutes for the dermaplaning and facial. If you wish to repeat the treatment, allow 3-4 weeks for the skin to rejuvenate between appointments.
